Gibson Art prize


Congratulations to Euan, Lamorna, Ailie and Megan who all won prizes for their entries into different categories of the Gibson art competition at the McLean museum - well done!

Euan won 1st prize for his oil pastel cat:

S5 art

Rebecca, Massimo and Megan have been working on their final expressive pieces of art work for their folios. Rebecca has been drawing this super pencil portrait:

S1/2 Art

S1/2 are looking at fonts and typefaces in art. There have begun designing their own book covers and will work with Mrs Creighton to write the summary 'blurb' on the back in English.

S4/5 dramatists were trying on their mouse ears today in preparation for their upcoming performance of "Can You Hear the Music?"... the furry costumes will follow soon!

French dogs!


Nathan gave a super presentation this afternoon on Pyrenean mountain dogs, which he had researched for his French studies.

This morning, S1/2 paid a visit to Mr Jewell's class, where they gave their presentations on what it is like to move up into secondary school. All the groups did very well, and received some very positive feedback from the pupils in Mr Jewell's class.

PE fitness




Today the s grade PE class were at the gym. We were designing our own fitness and training programmes, focusing on both cardiovascular and muscle work. We recorded our results on our fitness programme outline on the iPad.

Encore de la grammaire


Today in French, Chloe and Jessica from S3 gave a presentation on -re verbs, and the class then did some work on them. Last week's work on -ir verbs certainly paid off, as they all got 10/10 in their test on them this morning. C'est fantastique!

S4/5 drama

S4/5 dramatists have begun work on their production piece which will be externally examined in March. It is a play called "Can you hear the music?" and is the tale of 6 mice who get whisked away by the magic of a sinister piper's music...

Deborah is in charge of the set so she and Megan were measuring the hall and making notes on Wednesday:



With the kind help of Andrew Collins, we were able to begin creating a match box bed, complete with giant matches, and a giant cotton reel - the thread will be on it shortly!




S4 dramatists have also been working on another play called "Blackout" as part of their Drama Skills unit - they will be performing it next Thursday:
