
In Cedars school, we are constantly looking to improve and develop our learning environment, and to be at the fore of educational practice. This morning, I spent time in Mr Speirs' S3 Computing class to see Challenge Based Learning in action. Pupils are enthusiastic about this new style of learning, and are motivated and excited about the work they are producing, individually and collaboratively. They commented that because the questions and the challenge were largely self-generated, their engagement with the learning process is greatly increased. Pupils gave me some pointers on how we could make this work in their Standard Grade history lessons, and how they see it would benefit their learning...
